Update

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

I know. Long overdue.  :-P

Anyhoo. First up is, Little Sis had a little accident in the car on the way to meeting The Hubby for lunch last week. As usual, the Three Girls were poking and shoving each other in the backseat when Little Sis somehow rolled and fell on the floor of the car, her head hitting what we think was one of the metal parts of the car seats. Heard a cracked thud and suddenly Middle Sis let out a bone-chilling scream about blood on Little Sis. I pulled the car over and called The Hubby as well as Sr Kitty. Thankfully, Hubs was not too far behind and after consultation over the phone with Sr Kitty, we made our way to meet her.

There was blood in the car, on Little Sis’ clothes as well as mine. Little Sis wouldn’t let me go and kept asking me to press the injured part of her head. I used a towel over the wound and blood seeped through the towel like water. It was terrible.

After meeting Sr Kitty and being nursed and the wound cleaned and bandaged, Little Sis was back to her bouncy self. We were advised against stitches as it would involve putting Little Sis under general anaesthesia and some other procedures that may be quite traumatic for her. Praise God, it looks like the wound has closed properly and is healing well.

*BIG SIGH*

The Older two Girls are in their last lap of School and have been having a myriad of activities during that time. I got a phone call to report Middle Sis to Big Sis’ school next week, for Primary One. Oh my…

We will also be picking up Report Cards for both Girls next week. And after that, I think Middle Sis will be asked to sit through the Primary One Orientation Week.

Following that, I’ll have to come up with a killer program to keep the Children occupied for the one and a half month!

The Hubby’s been really BUSY at work these days. It’s usually that way at this time of the year before he takes off and goes on his annual Christmas leave. He however, has been happy with the Bento lunches I’ve been packing him lately. ;-)

And this is where I come in. Feel free to follow my adventures at Bento with Me. Remember to comment ah. ;-)

Well, that’s it for now here at mt Weekly, with Little Sis’ misadventure taking centre stage. The next few weeks looks to be rather full.

Spice-ful!

The Bento!

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Oh my! I discovered that Bento-making has been around for the longest time among homemakers. The concept originates from Japan, (and we love Japanese food!) but from blog browsing, I realised anyone and everyone from anywhere in the world can do it and have been doing it. And this Homemaker JUST discovered it!  8O

Of course the idea of packing lunch is not new to me having been packing lunches for my Kids all this while. The Younger Two eat their packed lunches during the wait for Big Sis to finish school, which is an hour later than Middle Sis. But Bento Boxes are pretty, compact & healthy. And I’ve read that with these Bentos being visually appealing, even the most pickiest eaters (like mine!) are drawn to gobble it all up.

I WANT!

Some bento boxes are beautifully done. Particularly Children boxes. Now I have plenty of ideas to serve my Girls (and The Hubby too!) their lunches, and will be running off to the nearby Daiso to get my hands on a stash of these goodies!

Eureka! Now my dinner AND lunch planning is falling into good shape. ;-)

The Latest Thing

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

This seem to be a trend with the little girls in Big Sis’ class at this time.

I don’t remember if I had a book like this when I was their age. (Of course, I did just celebrate a mid-life-ish birthday…) One of Big Sis’ good friends gave her these books and I must say, it’s a real ‘blessing’.

Gives them prolonged amounts of occupied time which in turn works well for Mommy & Daddy especially when having a discussion over a meal with friends. A real headache reliever I must say.  :-P

Now if we could only find something like that for The Little One who, try as we may, just want to escape our clutches and go exploring!

Any ideas?  ;-)
