During a visit to our home, my best friend asked Miss D that day, “Miss D, did your Mommy cry the first day you went to Kindie? I bet she did, but you didn’t see her huh?”
Hehehe.. Yeah, it was a bitter sweet experience. It was nice to see her all set to start formal schooling, but the reality that she is growing up faster than I’d anticipated set in when I saw her walk her own way round the building to her classroom. Normally, I would make sure that I held her hand and take her to wherever she needed to go. But here she was, walking all by herself to her classroom, with a confidence that said, ‘oh, I can do this!’
Ahh, my ‘baby’ girl…
We had to get her new shoes the other day, cos we found that she couldn’t fit into her existing pair anymore.. (and that’s just two weeks into the new year!)
As always, we can’t get one sister something and leave the other sister out, so here’s Miss Mel’s shoes.

They loved the shoes, hence the photos… ;-p
After Kindie, I send her back to Day Care where the staff there provides her lunch, send her off to take a nap afterwards and help her with homework when she has awaken. At first, Miss D finds it difficult to part ways with me when we reach the Day Care. Even though she knows her younger sisters are there too. (*sigh*)
So what I’ve done is, I sync picking her up from Kindie with my lunch hour. Then after picking her up, we go for a ride to somewhere and do something together, occasionally buying small items “for Miss Mel at daycare” says the Girl. (Lately it’s been having lunch at Likas Square!) By that time, she would be tired from all the activities and ready to go for a nap. At this point I take her back to daycare where she happily hops in and waves me bye-bye. So far, this has worked. *phew*
Well, Miss D’s been telling me lots of stories about her classes and her friends at Kindie.
Keep checking here for updates!
