Sunday at Kenny Rogers Roasters

Saturday, October 29th, 2005

Sunday is our chosen family day nowadays, since Cool Daddy is usually at practice on Saturday afternoons. What we’ve done lately is go for lunch after Church, and spend the rest of the afternoon right through the evening, together at chosen destinations.

We heard that Kenny Rogers Roasters was re-opened some time ago, but never got the chance to go. And since I so missed the wood roasted chicken and macaroni & cheese, KR Roasters met with a resounding YES from me!

Incidentally, the girls have been asking Daddy to bring them to ‘Centre Point’ where there would be ‘nail polish like the one Nicole has’! ;-p

So off we went to Centre Point Basement Floor.

Punya lah ramai orang sana! Of course it was a Sunday, and newly re-opened. (Ngam kah itu term??)

Thankfully, in spite of the crowd, we found ourselves a booth and sat down promptly.

And here they are!

Miss Mel wanted to do Miss D’s ‘peace’ sign too..

The food was great as can be expected. Here’s my quarter chicken meal with 3 side dishes. The cost? RM14.90++!! Kalau bukan family outing, mana mau spend sebanyak itu yo!!

The girls’ Milo was RM3.50 per mug, and coffee was RM3.90 per mug. I must say tho, the coffee was delicious. Not ‘Nescafe’ coffee, but Kopi Giling oh! Yumm!!

Ah well, although we had to carefully choose value for money dishes, the girls enjoyed the sights of the new restaurant and loved munching down the muffins.

Being there felt like being in the Kenny Rogers Roasters KL, the one at Berjaya Times Square! KK getting more affluent these days..

Anyway, I expect we may go there again some time later… maybe much, MUCH later! ;-) )

Mommy Eat You!

Wednesday, October 26th, 2005

Cindy in Perth has been using this. So one day I decided to do the same with my kids just to see how they’ll react.

After giving Spunky a nice bath and change, I put her down on her mattress near to where Miss D was sitting.

She really does smell yummy enough to eat, and so I started my experiment.

Mommy: Miss D, Chloe so wangi oh! Mommy eat her ah? (I then pretended to bite Baby Spunky’s arm)

Miss D: Mommeeeee! Noooooo! (She stood up from where she was sitting when she said this!)

Mommy: Eh, why?? Nice oh!

Miss D: Noooooo! After Baby Spunky cry how??

Mommy: errr….. (macam she blame ME pula! ish, ish, ish… anak ini!)

Mommy: Ok, so Mommy eat YOU lah!

Miss D: Nooooo!! Mommeeee Noooo!! You smelly!!

Mommy: (umm… so now how ah??)

My Prayer

Friday, October 21st, 2005

Last night when Cool Dad was leaving for prayer meeting, Miss D asked to come with. Dad said ‘Not tonight…’, and promised to take her and Miss Mel both to practice Thursday night instead.

Miss D then became very upset and made it known to her dad. She was still crying and kicking as Dad reversed the car out of the house.

I knew trying to calm her down at that point would be futile, so I gently suggested to her to join Miss Mel and me upstairs in the room with Baby Spunky.

She refused, and I proceeded to go upstairs with the other two.

A very short while later, she came up and burst into tears at the door. I opened my arms to her and said, “Mommy sayang you?”

To which she came willingly into my arms and cried some more. Hugging her tight, I explained that Dad will surely take her and Miss Mel out with him the next night.

After that, she calmed down and watched quietly as Miss Mel went about playing with her toys. Then as she saw Miss Mel doing something ‘wrong’ with one of her toys, she laughed a little bit. She began to see that Miss Mel was having ‘trouble’ with it, and so she came away from me and told Miss Mel, “Here, Che-Che help you.”

The rest of the night, everything went smoothly and without incident. It was as if Miss D was never upset.

As I was praying for Miss D while she slept, I realised that whilst it wasn’t that big of a deal with me that she was upset at Dad leaving, (because it happens a lot anyway…), my being there for her to receive comfort helped mend whatever negative feelings she was having at the time. I was soo glad that I had been there to offer comfort to her at such a time.

And then I prayed, may I always be there for my children when they need me. They may not always get the toy they want, or the barbie doll paraphernalia they want, or the latest movie they want; but may they always know and always remember that their Mom was there for them.

This was taken during our Perkasa Getaway.
I discovered Dan likes flowers too, just like her mommy!

Spunky

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

She has reached another milestone.

She’s started solids now and takes it very well.

Ahh my little one… I have a photo of her on my workstation at the office. Somedays, when I look at her in the photo, I look forward to meeting her once work is over and give her a big slurpy kiss and a big warm hug.

I love my kids to bits!

Bunyi Gitar…

Monday, October 10th, 2005

Tereng, tereng, tereng, tereng…

This year, at the Dewan MPMS along Jalan Tuaran, (I never registered what MPMS stood for!), Miss D performed two items and Miss Mel one item at the Day Care’s Annual Open Day.

While waiting for the program to begin, across the aisle Spunky plays with Nana and Yiyi.

After the usual Negaraku and speech from the Headmistress, the show began!

First up was Miss D’s class doing the ‘Shapes & Colors’ song. She’d been singing this song at home, in car rides, at food courts.. almost everywhere. Sampai Mom & Dad pun buleh memorise lyrics dia!

Here she is, and without a thought to her red-eye discomfort!

After that, our little Miss Mel came up with her class to do a Medley of Barney’s ‘Runaway’ & ‘I’m A Little Teapot’

And finally Miss D’s highly anticipated ‘Bunyi Gitar’! The one she had talked about all the time and practiced so hard for! I thot I’d post a movie clip for this one, just to show her ‘moves’. Ewah! Unfortunately one and all, my camera doesn’t capture sound, so folks, if you know the song, cuba kamu nyanyi tu lagu sambil tengok dia. If not, just enjoy her moves lah! She practiced hard tuh…. hehehe…

Can you see the girl is the one leading the guy?? Hehehe… I also discovered my ex-classmate Aileen’s son, Grisham, is in Miss D’s class. In the movie clip, he’s the pair behind Miss D, and boy was he the show stealer that afternoon! Leen, hebat anak kau menari agogo!

Here are the men, Mr B & Cool Daddy, with their precious ones.

Despite the rain outside and Miss D’s eye discomfort, it was a fun filled family time!

Events! Events! Events!

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

Much has happenedĀ  this past week. Starting from the kids’ Day Care Open Day, the church’s Family Fun Day and a relaxing getaway at Perkasa Hotel Kundasang!

At the moment though, can’t blog about them yet cos tending to Miss D who has conjunctivitis! You know how kids are when they have a bit of an illness, they need lots of attention from mom and dad.

Till then, appreciate your prayers for her! She’s on her 3rd doctor, and only now are we seeing some improvement. Yesterday, after a spell of crying over disciplinary issues (yes.. they misbehave too even when unwell… Cool Daddy says she probably thinks she has that ‘privilege’!), her tears were blood tinged! ekk..!! Panic juga sia tuh!!

But she is getting better. Pray on folks!
