Kadazan Sasat

That’s the local lingo for ‘Lost Kadazan’.

Lost because we pure bred Kadazan don’t speak the language no more!

Shame, cos I’d like to pass it down to my kids.

My granma lived with me for most of my growing up years, yet she only spoke the language when she converses with my mom. When Granma had to speak with us however, she switches to Malay! ***sigh***

Then I married a Sino Native. Half Chinese, half Kadazan with a chinese surname.

He speaks English! Not chinese, not kadazan.

Which makes him a ‘Cina Pasagi’, which means ‘Square Chinese’, which in the local lingo means mixed-bred.

So here we all are, our universal language is English. Our ‘fight’ language, that is; when we get into arguments, is mixed with malay.

Butul2 Sasat lah siorang nie!
