Looking good…

The new house that is.

Cool Daddy is wanting to go check on the progress of the renovations almost everyday!

Today, wet works on the house is finally complete. The contractor is now just touching up on minor parts of the house like paint and metal work. We’ve had the wireman come and fix all the lightings and electrical points. Now with lights and new paint, the house looks so different from when we first laid our hands on it. Then the color scheme was dark and it had but one small yellow light bulb in the kitchen!

The next stage is for the built-in cabinets to come in. The carpenter will be coming in the next few days to start work on it.

In the meantime, we will start cleaning the house up and moving our stuff in, in that order. We’ve tendered our notice to our current landlord, so officially, sometime during the Deepavali holiday in November, we would already be staying there.

As such, the next few weeks looks to be busy but the whole family is excited about it. Miss D keeps reminding her dad to bring her ‘ferarri’ over from uncle Bob’s house to our new home. Mom has been priming the girls up about having to sleep in their own room once we move there, and big sister is game, but little sister is still not so sure about it. Cool Daddy is constantly thinking about how better to improve our living conditions there, and I’m constantly thinking about decorating ideas.

It is after all, finally, our very own home!

Wait for the invites to our House Blessing friends!

Melinsung Beach is beautiful…

And what fun the children had at the Church’s Family Fun Day!

We arrived late, about 10.40 am, when the program was supposed to begin at 9 am, and we speculated that we would already miss the games. We were pleasantly surprised that when we arrived that the praise-aerobics had only just started. So we weren’t too late after all!

And Jude was there with a book to study! Amazing! Poor guy had an exam paper to do the very next day. Hope you did okay bro!

Once the children saw the beach and the sand, mom was kept on her toes all day just keeping up with their adventures and making sure they drink enough water and didn’t get too much sun! They both love the beach so much! Still, Miss D woke up with a red nose that was sensitive to the touch so mom had to gently apply aloe vera to soothe it.

In the meantime, Cool Dad and I also tried to catch on with the activities of the day. We thought the teambuilding games were great. I managed to observe just one of the activities in which the group held hands and tried, without letting go of each others’ hand, to untangle themselves and form a complete circle again. I gave a big applause when that mission was accomplished! It’s a great feeling accomplishing something together with the team!

Then it was back to watching the chidren and accompanying them in THEIR family fun day!

After the beach, Miss Mel insisted on going to the swing at the playground and naturally, Miss D wholeheartedly complied as well! So poor daddy who was so concerned about the scorching sun, reluctantly went with his favorite girls, albeit insisting that they kept drinking water!

Seeing that the group had started to play beach football, mom went and relieved daddy’s duty and took the girls to the swimming pool. This was when the sky clouded up a little, so the sun wasn’t as hot as it had half an hour earlier.

And did Miss D love the water! The water was chest deep for the toddlers so initially Miss Mel was scared to venture in. I was proud of Miss D cos after a while she overcame her fear and was happily walking all over the pool and even tried to persuade Aaron and Alex to join her!

Miss Mel would only be coaxed into the pool when mom helped her into a floatie. After that, Miss Dan had fun pushing Miss Mel in her floatie round and round the pool. I told Cool Dad that Miss D is ready for the pool. We should start thinking about getting her to a pool for swim lessons!

All in all it was really the children’s day out and it was nice to see them enjoying themselves.

When we finally went home, ALL of us were exhausted, and after showers, ALL of us fell into deep slumber!

By the way…

have learnt a lot from Bernard’s and Brian’s blogs. Thanks for calling up on my birthday Bernard. It was a nice surprise. Did you get my text that I had initially panicked cos I thot you were in some sort of trouble cos you never call me from there?!

having said that, I have a question to ask all you, young upcoming, tech savvy people out there… how do I post pictures on the blog? Pictures tell a thousand words, so that would cut down on a lot of words on my Weekly!

Six little ducks went out to play..

That’s the title of the song Miss D sang at her day care Open Day on Saturday, Oct 2nd, at Maksak Hall Likas. What a crazy two weeks we’ve had!

Cool Dad was busy throughout the two weeks facilitating for the Ancient Path Seminars. Despite the fact that he was physically stretched by the activities of the week – at work, at home and at church – he was blessed. For Cool Daddy, Craig Hill’s teachings were as new as it was when we first attended it. Now that he helped facilitate, it was a blessing to see how many more can be touched and healed so that they too can be a blessing to others around them. Work is not less busy for him but he’s looking forward to moving to the office’s new premise by month end. He gets a bigger room there!

Was a happy day for Miss D on Saturday, preparing to go to Maksak Hall. She had talked about it to mommy and daddy all week! Throughout the morning she was on her best behaviour. Not that I’m bragging, she really did such a good job in all her performances! The parent-child activity was funny tho. Mom and her were in the same team. The activity called for child to pick up balloons and run to mom for mom to blow, and run back to her position and pick another balloon up. Miss D and I had a good start until Miss D refused to pick up any other balloon that wasn’t either red or blue in color! Needless to say, Miss D and I didn’t win the competition but had a lot of fun doing it together.. that is, until someone finally gave her a balloon that was the color of her choice!

Our sweet Miss Mel just tagged along the whole time. Poor girl kept running after me cos I was busy taking photos of big sister Miss D out in the front. Miss Mel is beginning to sing more these days, and she got some moves when she hears music playing. We are thinking of enrolling her for ballet when she’s old enough. She’s also awesome at prayers, and starts her own mealtime prayer if nobody has started on it yet at the table. Then she’ll call on everyone to say ‘amen’! Whenever big sister cries or throws a tantrum, she’ll be singing ‘Jesus loves me this I know..” as loud as possible!

As for Mua, the office threw me a surprise birthday on friday, October 1st, which was nice. Truthfully, I hadn’t thought much about my birthday this year because it was right smack in the middle of church seminars and Dan’s Open Day performance. Then to make it even more special, the Worship Team called me on stage after church on sunday and sang me a birthday song! That was a really nice surprise. They gave me an Elle document bag for a gift. I absolutely love it! Then I had another surprise when we went to Christine’s birthday party. Because Christine and I shared the same birthday, they had a cake in my honor too! And I love your gift Belinda, Shen, Gabriel, Daniel and Christine! Thank you!

As a family, we are looking forward to two things. Our new house and our new baby.

The house is looking good now that renovations is underway. Looking forward to seeing how it looks like when all is completed! Likewise, baby three is growing well, and we can’t wait to see whether he or she will be more like Miss D or Miss Mel, or Mom or Dad!
